Work hard, play hard(er).
Yesterday when I was in class for FyP "discussion" (we ended up playing Frozen Throne), I felt my handphone's sms vibration, didn't think it was anything important as my friends (do I have any?) barely sms me. Even if it was important I think I'd be getting a call instead.
I only checked my phone when walking down Sch of Business to the MRT and realised that the sms said the Sch of Media & IT office had my 1gb thumbdrive (which I bought for $10 at Sim Lim) whom someone found and returned. I walked back up and retrieved it and thought of how they knew it belonged to me. I had left it in the Visual Basic lab and totally forgot. It's okay even if I lost it, it only contains a backup of sch files and the work done for that day.
Soon after I was reminded of how I myself had kept someone's 512mb thumbdrive last year when I found it, I've lost it now and have no idea where it is. At that time, I'd say I was under peer influence (not pressure) as my new classmates of year 2 also kept some thumbdrives and external harddisks they found. That reason is an excuse I guess, as it was obviously against the morals I set. I left this thumbdrive in a lab before also and claimed it back from a lecturer who a student had gave it to.
I had also misplaced my 512mb Creative mp3-thumbdrive twice in poly year 1. One time I called a St Pat's mate who's in the same course as me to retrieve it when I realised on the MRT. He's had always been an oddity since St Pat's and people I knew often made fun of him. At least I spent a little effort talking to him now and then, the others usually shunned him. The other time it was left in the lab after the last lesson of the day and I was home by the time I realised. Fortunately it was still there the next day as I went right after the lab opened at 7.40am.
