Oasis Haven
an oasis.. a haven

One word. Stress.

By Anonymous
Met with Josh and Ameen to work on Visual Basic and received a little help from the lecturer who was there coaching another person. We made progress, at least now I can continue on it while they work on FYP. After lunch I continued working on it but got stumped again as the radio buttons were not being overwritten properly.

During FYP meeting with our supervisor he was obviously unhappy that we haven't got the administration up, template finalised or file upload done. Perhaps I'm at fault, for not helping them after I finished my product display and other miscellaneous stuff. To me, the allocation of the amount of work we have done is: me 30%, Josh 45%, Ameen 15%, Clem 10% and the other two 5% each. Yes, I'm pissed that the two have barely put in any effort, that's why I'm slacking. The thing is, I don't feel guilty, I even grinned slightly several times when the supervisor questioned us.

Why? As group leader Clem has not done a good job in pushing us, setting deadlines and forsee-ing problem. I had been the one who quietly wrote emails of work to do and deadlines. He's alright actually, just not the leader type. I guess he still hasn't recovered from slacking in June, where his reasons for being missing in action were more than valid. I'd say I could have done a better job, but I chose not to take up leadership positions after graduation from sec sch and when I did again for Year 1 Orientation, look what happened.. I got backstabbed.

As for the other two, just look at their results.

The Visual Basic lecturer walked past after our meeting and I asked him about the radio buttons, he said it can't be done and he had tried it before himself. I'll stick to the simpler and more direct way then.

(this is the part where someone spammed me on msn)

After getting home and surfing, I did a little research on file upload for the FYP website but gave up as there were simply no direct answers. Spent the rest of the night playing DotA with Kenneth and his friends, lost 1 won 1. The 1st game was lost all cuz a noob had left our team and our hero combination was bad. For the 2nd game, we were losing as 1.5 out of 3 of our raxes had gone down and they had farmed a lot more than us. Eventually we caught up thanks to 3 Roshan trips and them not pushing. With our superior item builds we managed to turn the tables when they lost the fight outside their tower at mid lane. As I thought, the win or lost depended on who made a big mistake first. It ended at 88 mins, one of the best games I have had in my 2.5 years of DotA.

I doubt whoever reads what I just said about DotA won't understand it, it's more for me to remember. =)
