Angels and Demons

By Anonymous
My small love for novels started with Nicholas Sparks, which was around sec 1 or 2. When I went for the 18th National Lasallian Leadership Camp in Ipoh, Malaysia I brought two along with me to read. I ended up coming back with one and my collection will always be missing the one which I gave to her as a birthday present there. Do I hope that she still has it? The answer is yes.

She was the same reason why I started reading Dan Brown's novels, beginning with the famous Da Vinci Code.. which she was reading before the camp. She's studying medicine now, hope she'll take care and do well.

I then got to know about Sidney Sheldon from my sis who had one of his books. Over time I bought more of these three authors' novels and tried to improve my English in the process of reading.

On Monday night I had a sudden thought of reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown again as the movie was coming out soon, it'd be better usage of time than closing my eyes and half-sleeping on the one-hour long journeys to poly. I don't remember the content after so long, so it has been like reading it for the first time and I'm close to finishing it already.

I admire authors like these three (and people who write other stuff like magazines, guide books, textbooks) as there has to be much talent, inspiration and dedication. Imagine the process of writing - going through mental blocks etc. and then finally achieving the end result - a complete novel. The sense of satisfaction must be overwhelming, although it is actually a job to most.

After yesterday night's post I got around to changing the blog template. This current one instantly caught my eyes and ended the search quickly. I like the refreshing 'mush' blue, the creative banner and dark simple design. Credits of this one I'm using can of cuz be found at the bottom. After removing the ads and rearranging the widgets, I was done and here it is.

I was thinking, blog/livejournal/wordpress and their widgets are another sign of how the internet has improved. Here's a fact, streaming of music and videos make up most of the internet's bandwidth today, I think up to about 75%, if I remember correctly.

I had been using the Microsoft mouse which my sis bought for a long time (up to 2-3 years).. until today. It's actually quite an uncomfortable and unsuitable mouse for me but I kept using it anyway as I can be quite content with what I have. In another sense, I simply didn't want to spend the money, although my sis would definitely have bought one if I asked. In fact I don't usually like to spend money other than on ordinary meals, my family know best.

Razer.. it is the brand of high-quality and gaming mice (plural of mouse). I knew about them long ago and drooled often at Razer mice which appeared in photos where people showed their computer setup.

So after reading through a mice review at ESreality using benchmarking (too complicated to explain), I was convinced the Razer Krait is value for money. In simpler terms it showed that with the Krait (as with other quality mice), control of it would never be lost as you would never move it fast enough to do so - 1.78meters/second. The main thing is the technical specifications which were extremely appealing.

After a short Visual Basic lesson I went to Challenger in EastPoint at Simei to get it. When I was browsing for locations of Challenger earlier, my classmate told me that there were member discounts and he gave me his IC number to do so (he'd get member points from the purchase). I ended up paying $45 instead of $55.

I was eager to open and try it upon reaching home. After opening and installing (extra software allowing customisation, although it can work like a normal plug & use mouse), I played a few Dota games to test it out and it has been amazing so far. It is extremely comfortable and suitable (opposite of the old Microsoft one) and my control has much improved. More than worth the money.
