Oasis Haven
an oasis.. a haven

Tomorrow is Teachers' Day and celebrations were held today. We were in class until about 9.30 before we went to the hall. We had ordered food from one of the canteen stalls which one of my classmate's mom owns and most of them played murderer while the rest were playing their guitar. I really want to learn how to play it (guitar).. Teguh, the person whom I had asked to help me play for Patrician Idol previously is by far the best guitarist in our class and he played "Dare You To Move", it was awesome.. He can easily master a song after some practice and captured the attention of many. He's leaving for Austrialia next year though.. =( Maybe I'll be able to play the guitar before then and learn the song from him.. just maybe..

In the hall, two bands and two singers performed between slideshows of affirmation from teachers and their childhood pictures. The microphone messed up for the "Purple Spotted Giraffe", just like it did previously during Patrician Idol. =
I met up with Xin Ying and we shared a taxi to our primary school, Bedok West. Some studying in Ngee Ann were already there. There was even a "Bedok West Idol" competition, was cool.. We met up with Mdm Pang (our form teacher) and the rest soon arrived. I didn't have a gift for her but at least I took the effort to contact almost our whole class and ask them to go back. About 15 went back? A good number if you ask me..

After a group photo we left for Tampines. We finally found some seats in Long John Silver after some time, it was very crowded. Chuan Li kept teasing me that he "was holding a torch for me".. I wasn't offended and it was really funny actually. They commented that my ears turned red.. =X We wanted to go for a movie but there wasn't any good ones showing in Tampines Mall or Century Square so we decided to go to Safra to bowl and play pool.

I had never even touched a bowling ball in my life but I decided to try it. Hey, why not right? The ball fell into the gutter (I think that's what they call the "drain"?) several times but I guess I did okay for a total newbie beginner. There was lots of fun and laughter and I really enjoyed it.

The rest who weren't bowling played pool, they were pretty darn good at it as well. The loser would pay for the table and both who lost lost cause they hit the black 8 ball in.. =P

I brought $15 and am totally bankrupt now. 5+ for the taxi fare which Xin Ying forgot to pay me back, 5+ for bowling and gave 4 to Chuan Li cause he had no money to bowl. Speaking of Chuan Li again, his dad only earns 1.2K a month and his mom doesn't work. That has to support the family of four.. tough.. I told him that he didn't need to repay me, instead just return the favour when I need help in the future. =)

Overall it has been an awesome day, was great seeing some old classmates again! Really enjoyed myself!
